Brenda Jo Howard, 65, of Mulberry, Kansas died at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.10, 2026 at her home. 

Brenda was born Dec. 30, 1960, at Pittsburg, Kansas the daughter of John L. and Pauline Lenne Toms. She was fiscal clerk for Crawford County and had been a resident of Mulberry most of her life. She was raised in Liberal, Missouri attended Liberal High School and later graduated from Northeast High School in Arma. Brenda married Michael Howard on July 12, 1978, at Mulberry, Kansas. Mr. Howard survives at the home. She was a member of the Regulators ME. Survivors include her husband Michael of the home, a daughter, Michele (Herb) Spielman of Mulberry, a son, John Howard of Arma, two grandchildren, Troy Howard of Arma and Ezara Howard of Diamond, Missouri, two great grandchildren, three sisters, Karen Lock of Colorado, Paula Palmer of Arma, and Jackie Nute of Macon, Missouri, and three brothers, John Toms of Bevier, Missouri, Mike Toms of Arma, and Doug Toms of Macon, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Toms. 

Brenda requested to be cremated. A Celebration of Life/Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas. Burial of the cremains will be buried at a later date. The family suggests memorials to Share To Care or the Mulberry Funeral Dinner Fund.
